Once in a while, you see some text that you would like to be able to save as text, but alas, it's inside an app, just text in an image or maybe even a PDF that is not editable. Well Windows Screen Snip to the rescue! Screen Snip has always been able to capture anything that appears on your screen, but now it can also detect any visible text. Once the text is highlighted, you can simple copy and paste it into any other application that accepts text-based input. Maybe MS Word or Excel. Or past the text into notepad for a quick save for later use. Here's a few examples of what you can extract into text, but many more as long as it appears on your Windows 10 or Window 11 screen.
